It’s that time of year again! Can you sing? If so, Victim Witness wants you!

Fayette County Victim Witness will be hosting it’s 2nd Annual “Sing Out” to End Sexual Violence competition, a singing contest in coordination with sexual assault awareness and prevention month.

“The YMCA will be hosting us again this year on April 13, 2013 5 p.m.-8 p.m,” read a statement released by victim witness. “We had a great turnout last year, everyone is welcome.”

Cash prices are awarded to winners in the amounts of $100, $50, and $25.

The event is opened to the public and there is a $1 admission fee which is donated to the Ohio Alliance To End Sexual Violence.

Those interested in competing may pick up a flyer and registration form from Victim Witness’ office, Miami Trace High School or Junior High, or the Washington Court House High School or Middle School, or Fayette Advocate’s office.

Registration forms, entry fees, and music is due no later than 4 p.m. on March 29, 2013.

• Keep it clean. Avoid language that is obscene, vulgar, lewd, or sexually-oriented. If you can't control yourself, don't post it. Trust us, it will get the ax.
• Don't threaten to hurt or kill anyone. Even if you're joking. And speaking of joking, please be aware that irony and sarcasm don't always translate via the written comment. Better to be simple and straightforward than confusing and marginally funny.
• Be nice. Hard for some online regulars, it's true. Don't use racism, sexism, or any other sort of -ism that degrades another person.
• But mostly, stay focused and stay on topic.
